چکیده
Aiming to solve the problems of easy generation clods, poor soil fluidity and soil-covering effect in no-tillage seeding operation mode, this study has designed a device with soil-closing function for chisel-type furrow opener corn planter. Theoretical analysis design dividing plate disc were carried out, key parameters determined. Then, movement model was constructed Altair EDEM, spatial particle mobility analyzed. The numerical simulation method combined center plane composite response test scheme carry out test, optimal working parameter combination obtained. operating speed 6.35 km·h?1, inclination angle 60°, opening 70°, 40°. Optimizing Strip-Till and No-Till Systems for Corn
Recent developments in biofuel demand and the rapid adoption of modern transgenic hybrids are changing production systems towards more corn after corn, more intensive tillage, higher plant populations, and ever higher crop residue levels at harvest. Meeting society’s needs for food, feed, and fuel from grain corn, and in the future from corn stover, requires continued refinement of tillage syst...
متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Landscape level variation in soil resources and microbial properties in a no-till corn field
Soil microbial properties are known to exhibit high spatial and temporal variability, which can hinder our understanding of the effects of agricultural management on soil microbial activities, populations and communities. However, if this variability is explicitly considered in soil sampling schemes, experimental results can help us better understand soil microbial properties. In this initial a...
متن کاملCover crop root contributions to soil carbon in a no-till corn bioenergy cropping system
Crop residues are potential biofuel feedstocks, but residue removal may reduce soil carbon (C). The inclusion of a cover crop in a corn bioenergy system could provide additional biomass, mitigating the negative effects of residue removal by adding to stable soil C pools. In a no-till continuous corn bioenergy system in the northern US Corn Belt, we used CO2 pulse labeling to trace plant C from ...
متن کاملCrop Residue Removal and Soil Productivity with No-Till Corn, Sorghum, and Soybean
Crop residues have been considered during the past decade as alternate energy sources to supplement dwindling fossil fuel sources and enhance energy independence in the United States. Agricultural scientists have demonstrated the importance of crop residues in reducing soil erosion, enhancing the soil physical environment for plant growth, and as a reserve for major crop nutrients. In eastern N...
